Slovenian company Alfi Renewables is becoming the co-owner of Austria-based Ivicom Holding’s two solar power projects in Croatia.

The Agency for the Protection of Market Competition (AZTN) approved the joint ownership of project firms Slavonija Power and Bilogora Power, developing two photovoltaic projects.

The special purpose vehicles are not active in the power market, AZTN noted in its decision. However, when their photovoltaic facilities Trenkovo and Velika Pisanica are completed, they will produce and sell electricity, the document adds.

Slavonija Power is developing Trenkovo. It is envisaged with 12.48 MW in peak capacity and an annual output of 14,550 MWh. The location is in the municipality of Velika, near the city of Požega, according to data from the website of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development.

Velika Pisanica and Trenkovo ​​will have a total capacity of 18.5 MW

Velika Pisanica should have a capacity of 5.861 MW while the expected annual production is estimated at 7,110 MWh. The power plant is planned to be installed in the municipality of Velika Pisanica near the city of Bjelovar.

AZTN noted that Alfi Group is active in property investment management in Croatia, including retail sales, debt collection and other alternative investments. It doesn’t trade electricity on the wholesale market.

Ivicom Group owns Ivicom Wind and KMD Žabno Power in Croatia. The two firms are registered for the production of electricity, however they haven’t generated any income in 2023.

Alfi Renewables has stepped up its activity in the region. Ten days ago it reached an agreement on a 125 MW wind farm project in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In Serbia, together with partners, Alfi took over the Krivača wind farm in 2022, when it was already under construction, and inaugurated it in May of this year.

The company is also installing a PV facility with a total capacity of 16 MW near Aleksinac in Serbia, with MK Group. The power plant is scheduled to start production by the end of the year, according to the company’s website.

Ivicom has been present in the region for a long time. It developed the Krivača wind farm project. The company also said earlier that it would build a wind farm called Rakova Bara in Serbia. Ivicom is a partner in the Gvozd wind farm project in Montenegro.
