In 2014, the European Union has approved a grant in the amount of EUR 1 million for the rehabilitation of landfill Krivodol in the northwest of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The administrative procedures lasted until recently, and now everything is ready for the call for bids for the closure and rehabilitation of the facility, the Municipality of Bosanska Krupa stated on its website.

The tender for the procurement of goods, works and non-consulting services is organized according to the World Bank’s guidelines. In this project, the international financing institution acts as the European Commission’s administrator for IPA funds, while water and waste utility JKP 10. Juli d. o. o. is the implementer. Municipalities Neum and Srebrenik and the City of Sarajevo also participate in the project, the statement said.

The endeavour includes preparatory and ground works, and then the sealing and degassing of the landfill. Funding is also provided for the construction of a hydrant network, the central measurement site and adjacent facilities, while a part of local road will be relocated in order to prevent the unauthorized reuse of the former landfill.

Bids will be accepted until August 31. They must be accompanied by a bank guarantee for the amount of BAM 35,000 KM (EUR 18,000), and offers will be accepted only from companies that already have experience with such projects. A public call for expressions of interest for the supervision of works is also announced, the statement adds.
