Boksit, from the town of Milići, launched a pilot-project worth approximately BAM 25,000 (EUR 12,780) in cooperation with a partner from China.

Solar collectors were installed to heat sanitary water in mining and transport company’s motel, Energetika.ba portal said. Boksit’s chief project manager Darko Gordić told Srna agency the company intends to offer solar collector mounting systems in the region’s market.

„We chose a system which will only heat sanitary water in the motel building, however in the future we may expand our operation to photovoltaic collectors, which produce electricity that can be sold through the grid. The collectors will heat 2,000 liters of water in our buildings, and it is enough for all our needs,“ he said.

Gordić added the representatives of the partner from China participated in installing the panels and trained Boksit’s workers.
