Svake godine oko milijardu tona jestive hrane, ili gotovo petina ukupne dostupne hrane u svetu, zavr\u0161i kao otpad, \u0161to negativno uti\u010de i na ljude i na \u017eivotnu sredinu, procenjuje se u studiji Programa Ujedinjenih nacija za \u017eivotnu sredinu (UNEP). Fokus ovogodi\u0161njeg Me\u0111unarodnog dana nultog otpada, koji se obele\u017eava svakog 30. marta, je na smanjenju otpada od hrane i promovisanju principa cirkularnosti.<\/h2>\n

Doma\u0107instva generi\u0161u oko 60% otpada od hrane<\/a> u svetu, odnosno oko 79 kilograma po osobi godi\u0161nje, dok ostatak uglavnom nastaje u ugostiteljstvu i maloprodaji. Ogromne koli\u010dine prehrambenog otpada posledica su neefikasnosti sistema proizvodnje, distribucije i potro\u0161nje hrane, navodi se u saop\u0161tenju na zvani\u010dnoj internet stranici Me\u0111unarodnog dana nultog otpada<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Smanjenje prehrambenog otpada zahteva reformu ovih sistema i prelazak na odr\u017eiviji, cirkularni pristup, navodi se u saop\u0161tenju, uz napomenu da to podrazumevanje delovanje vlada, kompanija i potro\u0161a\u010da.<\/p>\n

Vlade bi mogle pobolj\u0161ati prevenciju otpada od hrane kroz planove za klimu i biodiverzitet, kao i kroz politike u oblasti cirkularnosti, otpada, prehrambenih sistema, poljoprivrede i urbanizma, uz istovremeno merenje i monitoring ove vrste otpada.<\/p>\n

Smanjenje prehrambenog otpada zahteva anga\u017eman vlada, privrede i potro\u0161a\u010da<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Kompanije, sa svoje strane, mogu definisati ciljeve za smanjenje otpada od hrane i integrisati ih u postoje\u0107e ciljeve odr\u017eivog poslovanja. Privreda tako\u0111e mo\u017ee koristiti inovacije za prelazak na cirkularne prehrambene sisteme i unapre\u0111ivati efikasnost lanaca snabdevanja.<\/p>\n

Na kraju, potro\u0161a\u010di mogu kupovati, \u010duvati i pripremati hranu na odgovoran i promi\u0161ljen na\u010din kako bi smanjili otpad i \u0161tedeli resurse. Tako\u0111e mogu u\u010destvovati u inicijativama poput prikupljanja vi\u0161kova hrane, redistribucije i kompostiranja, ali i preduzimati korake kako bi stvaranje otpada od hrane postalo dru\u0161tveno neprihvatljiva praksa, navodi se u preporukama objavljenim na stranici Me\u0111unarodnog dana nultog otpada.<\/p>\n
