Iako su potrebna dalja istra\u017eivanja, tim sa Univerziteta Nortvestern (Northwestern University) u \u010cikagu se nada da bi ovo moglo jednog dana omogu\u0107iti skladi\u0161tenje obnovljive energije u velikom obimu.<\/h2>\n<p>U ovom inovativnom procesu koristi se otpadni molekul trifenilfosfin oksid (TPPO), koji najstaje tokom proizvodnje vitaminskih tableta i jo\u0161 nekih proizvoda, a dobija se baterija sa redoks protokom (eng. redox flow battery &#8211; RFB).<\/p>\n<p>To su punjive baterije koje koriste hemijsku reakciju za preno\u0161enje energije izme\u0111u elektrolita, u kojima se ta energija skladi\u0161ti. S druge strane, u litijumskim i drugim \u010dvrstim baterijama energija se skladi\u0161ti u elektrodama. Procena je da c\u0301e tr\u017ei\u0161te redoks baterija porasti za 15% izme\u0111u 2023. i 2030. godine, navodi se u saop\u0161tenju na sajtu univerziteta.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Baterije koje koriste TPPO nisu pogodne za automobile i telefone, ali bi mogle biti dobro re\u0161enje za elektromre\u017ee<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Iako su manje efikasne od drugih tipova baterija i prevelike za elektri\u010dne automobile ili pametne telefone, baterije koje koriste TPPO mogle bi da budu bolje re\u0161enje za skladi\u0161tenje i balansiranje elektri\u010dne energije u mre\u017ei, uklju\u010dujuc\u0301i energiju iz vetra i sunca.<\/p>\n<p>Tim nau\u010dnika iz Ilinoisa testirao je otpornost molekula putem eksperimenata punjenja i pra\u017enjenja. \u010cak i nakon 350 ciklusa, baterija je izgubila veoma malo svog kapaciteta.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Nova tehnologija ne bi zahtevala invazivno rudarenje metala<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Tako\u0111e, proizvodnja baterija na bazi TPPO bi bila ekolo\u0161ki odr\u017eivija jer ne bi zahtevala intenzivnu i invazivnu rudarsku eksploataciju metala, za razliku od litijumskih ili kobaltnih baterija. Tako\u0111e, otpad nije tako deficitaran kao ovi metali.<\/p>\n<p>Svake godine se proizvede na hiljade tona TPPO, ali on postaje beskoristan i mora se pa\u017eljivo odlagati, navodi ameri\u010dki univerzitet.<\/p>\n<p>Kristijan Malapit, glavni autor istra\u017eivanja, ka\u017ee da ovo otkric\u0301e demonstrira potencijal za transformaciju otpadnih jedinjenja u vredne resurse i tako otvara
