BiH’s Canton 10 grants concessions for two solar power plants of 200 MW

Herceg-Bosna County in Bosnia and Herzegovina has signed concession agreements for two solar power plants with a total installed capacity of almost 200 MW.

Herceg-Bosna County, or Canton 10, is home to the first wind farm built in Bosnia and Herzegovina – Mesihovina. Although there are a number of wind farms in the pipeline in the county, solar power plants are taking the lead.

The Government of Canton 10 has launched public calls for granting concessions for the construction of two photovoltaic facilities, and now the contracts have been signed.

Earth Finance was granted a concession to build the SE Orlovac sola power plane with a total installed capacity of 92.5 MW. The facility is planned at the Orlovac location in the Tomislavgrad municipality.

The contract was signed by Minister of Economy of Canton 10 Miroslav Jaglica and Mirko Mednica from the Woodburn Capital Partners Group on behalf of Earth Finance, the government said.

According to the BiH business register, Czech company Woodburn Invest, Dražen Vučemil from Croatia, and Željko Dilber from BiH are the owners of Earth Finance.

The second concession was awarded to Insolar for the 100 MW SE Seline project at the location of the same name in the municipality of Tomislavgrad. The contract was signed by minister Miroslav Jaglica and Nataniel Halbrohr on behalf of Insolar, the government noted.

The owner of Inosolar is Hungarian company Electron Holding.

The one-time concession fee for Earth Finance is set at BAM 20,176 (EUR 10,347) while the annual concession fee is 1.8% of the total gross income generated by electricity production.

Insolar will pay a one-time fee of BAM 23,273 (EUR 11,935), while the annual fee stands at 2% of the total gross income generated by electricity production.
